The Results

Updated: Mar 12, 2020

Happy Friday! Today, I found out the results of the FNA. I am in shock. I went to the hospital by myself (by design) to get the envelope. Before I could even get out of the medical records office, I looked inside. Darn. In shock. I saw the word "Carcinoma" and that is all I needed to see. However, the word "suspicious" made me feel better. They told me to request the pathology molecular results. I called that office and that will take 4 to 6 weeks to get. A wonderful man that overheard me talking and crying, told me to stay on top of them and to keep the faith. I was grateful for his eavesdropping. Now, I have to tell Mom and Rob. In the car, googling what this means for thyroid diagnosis. Highly likely that this "suspicious" is a marker for 80%+ sure it is cancer, but it looks like a kind that is common, slow growing. Sigh. Still not what I wanted to see.
